a rational expression

I have a number of problems based on a rational expression I have tried a lot to solve them myself but in vain. Our teacher has asked us to solve them out ourselves and then explain them to the whole class. I reckon that I will be chosen to do so. Please help me!

First of all, let me welcome you to the world of a rational expression. You need not worry; this topic seems to be difficult because of the many new terms that it has. Actually even I like this software and it can’t be put in words as to how much it helped me when I lost all hope before my previous term exams. I remember having often faced difficulties with simplifying fractions, quadratic equations and angle suplements. A really great piece of math program is Algebrator software. By simply typing in a problem from workbook a step by step solution would appear by a click on Solve. I have used it through many math classes – College Algebra, Intermediate algebra and Remedial Algebra. I greatly recommend the program.
