help solving rational equations

I think God must have been in a really bad mood that he came up with something called algebra to trouble us! I’ve spent hours working on this algebra problem which relates to help solving rational equations and I still can’t solve it. I’m particularly having problems with like denominators, factoring expressions and radical equations. Can anyone throw some light on how to go about solving such problems? I’ve tried various means that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent help now. Anybody?

Algebrator is the program that I have used through several math classes - Remedial Algebra, Intermediate algebra and Basic Math. It is a really a great piece of math software. I remember of going through difficulties with scientific notation, trigonometric functions and function composition. I would simply type in a problem homework, click on Solve – and step by step solution to my algebra homework. I highly recommend the program.
